There is no doubt about it… Jessica Alba is one stylish Hollywood mom. She’s looks chic even in her casual outfits! This latest look is no exception. On December 3rd, the gorgeous brunette was spotted outside an office building in Santa Monica because you know she keeps busy!
She looked cozy in her oversized coat, which she paired with a plaid button-down, jeans and B Brian Atwood Paramour Booties.
What do you think of Jessica’s look?
Now that you’ve seen some splurgeworthy dress options for all your holiday parties, here are a few budget-friendly options that look equally as great!
The official start of winter is nearly here, but is your handbag really prepared for even colder temperatures? These are seven essentials you should have in your bag throughout winter:
Juicy Couture Glamour Girl Texting Gloves
Keeping your digits warm is a must when the temperatures drop, but you can’t let it stop you from sending that text or tweet, right? Right! Just keep a pair of touchscreen-friendly gloves stashed in your purse and wear them whenever it gets too cold.
Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream
Hands get dry and cracked very easily in the winter, so it’s important to keep your skin hydrated. Find a small bottle of hand cream that fits into your bag without getting in the way so it’s always accessible.
Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25
Lips get dry too! No one likes dry lips, so have a thick lip balm on hand for those days when your lips are needing some extra nourishment.
Sniff Scent of a Wild Woman Tissues
You never know when the sniffles will hit! Keep a pack of tissues on hand at all times! Your friends will thank you for this!
Ulta Anti-Bacterial Gel
As it’s cold and flu season, be sure to keep hand sanitizer in your bag. You should really have some year-round, but it’s especially necessary this time of year. You don’t want to get sick, do you?
Anthropologie Multitude Hair Ties
Hair Ties & Bobby Pins
When your hair gets unruly from static, just pull it back into a ponytail or pin it back with bobby pins. Cute hair ties and bobby pins will help get you through a tough hair day in style!
Is your handbag ready for winter?
The Haute Notes is getting festive this month with the Haute Home series! This month is going to be all about decorating for Christmas!
From the lights, to the garland, and the tree itself… One of the most exciting things about the holidays is decorating. There’s just something about making your home festive that instantly puts you in a cheerful mood. So, why not show off your sense of style with these adorable wooden trees from Urban Outfitters?
Love polka dots? The yellow polka dotted tree is for you! A sucker for chevron? Snatch up that red chevron tree! Or maybe you can’t choose? Get them both! You can never have too many Christmas decorations, right?
Available at Urban Outfitters. (polka dots/chevron)
This photo of the gorgeous Karlie Kloss may be from the Spring 2012 runways, but it serves as the perfect base for a simple holiday makeup look. It proves that a red lip is such a classic look that it can be worn any time of the year, whether the sun is shining or the snow is falling.
To get this look, start with a foundation that will leave your skin looking flawless. Try the Marc Jacobs Genius Gel Super-Charged Foundation, as it will give amazing coverage that will last all through the night. Cover any under eye circles and blemishes with a full coverage concealer like the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (The Haute Notes loves it!)
Add a glow to your skin, just like Karlie’s, with a liquid product like Benefit’s High Beam. Dot this along your cheekbones, brow bones, and in the inner corner of the eyes, blend it in, and you’ll be beaming!
Now onto the eyes! Coat your lashes with a mascara that’s going to give you a dramatic look. After all, you want your lashes to stand out, right? Dior’s Diorshow Mascara should do the trick! Then, grab a liquid liner to line your upper lash line. Add a little wing to create a cat eye if you really want to make those eyes pop! Try Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner so you won’t have to worry about it wearing off while you’re enjoying yourself at that party!
If you want to add some more emphasis to the eyes, go for a subtle shimmer to give your eyes a frosty look. Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Sugar Frost would be fantastic for this!
For the lips, go for a matte red lipstick like Make Up For Ever’s Rouge Artist Intense in #8. A matte will last much longer than a gloss, saving you from having to reapply multiple times throughout the night. Plus, it’ll be the perfect complement to a shimmery eye.
Now just slip into your holiday dress and you’re good to go!
The NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer has been getting loads of attention over the past few months and rightfully so! If you haven’t tried this concealer yet… What are you waiting for?!
It’s not very often we find one concealer that works flawlessly both under the eyes and to cover blemishes, but this one does. You can swipe this concealer under the eyes to hide dark circles, while also brightening the under eye area. It won’t crease or settle into those pesky fine lines. After you’re finished banishing those dark circles, dab this onto any imperfections you want to cover (acne, scarring, etc.). Once you’ve got everything concealed, you can even use this to add a bit of radiance (hence the name!) to other parts of the face, including down the bridge of the most and in between your brows.
It may be pricy, but it’s definitely worth the money. A concealer that hides dark circles and imperfections all while leaving your skin looking impeccable and radiant is a must-have!
Available at Sephora.

Since it’s December and it’s getting a bit cold out, this month’s Fashion Find posts are going to be centered around stylish clothes that will also keep you nice and warm. And first up is the Plenty by Tracy Reese Kittiwake Pullover. This pullover is incredibly detailed with the many colors and the variety of stitching. There’s even a mesh-stitch on the shoulders so you can let just a little bit of skin peek through. Who says you can’t show a hint of skin when the temperatures drop?
So, slip into this sweater, your favorite pair of jeans, rugged boots and a hat for the perfect fall/winter look.
